JEE Main 2022Complex Number Question with Solution

JEE Main 2022 (26 Jul Shift 2)

Question

If z=x+iy satisfies z-2=0 and z-i-z+5i=0, then

Choose an option

Show full solutionCorrect option: C
Correct answer
Cx+2y+4=0

Step-by-step explanation

Given, z=x+iy

Also, z=2

So, x2+y2=4     ...1

Now, z-i=z+5i

z-i2=z+5i2

x2+y-12=x2+y+52

y=-2     ...2

So, x=0 by solving equation 1 & 2

Hence, only x+2y+4=0 is true, as point only satisfy this equation.
