JEE Main 2022 (26 Jun Shift 1)

Question

Let A=i=110j=110mini,j and B=i=110j=110maxi,j. Then A+B is equal to _____.

Enter your answer

Show full solutionCorrect answer: 1100
Correct answer
1100

Step-by-step explanation

A=i=110j=110mini,j

B=i=110j=110maxi,j

A=j=110mini,1+minj,2+mini,10

=1+1+1++119 times +2+2+2+217 times +3+3+3+315 times  +...

B=j=110maxi,1+maxj,2+maxi,10

=10+10++1019 times +9+9++917 times +...

i.e. each element of the ordered pair i,j will appear either in A or B

So A+B will be sum of all elements of the ordered pair

A+B=201+2+3++10

=20×10×112=10×110=1100
