JEE Main 2020Current Electricity Question with Solution

JEE Main 2020 (05 Sep Shift 2)

Question

In the circuit, given in the figure currents in different branches and value of one resistor are shown. Then potential at point B with respect to the point A is:

Choose an option

Show full solutionCorrect option: D
Correct answer
D+1V

Step-by-step explanation

Using kirchhoff's law in the circuit ACDB, we get

Voltage at B= voltage at A + voltage of battery of 1 V + potential difference across 2 Ω resistance - voltage of battery of 2 V

VA+1+2(1)-2=VB

Now potential at point B with respect to point A is given by,

VB-VA=1 V
