JEE Main 2014 — Rotational Motion Question with Solution
From: JEE Main 2014 (Offline)
Question
A bob of mass attached to an inextensible string of length is suspended from a vertical support. The bob rotates in a horizontal circle with an angular speed about the vertical. About the point of suspension:
Choose an option

Correct answer
Cangular momentum changes in direction but not in magnitude.
Step-by-step explanation
Torque working on the bob of mass is, (Direction of torque by the weight is parallel to plane of rotation of the particle)
As is perpendicular to the angular momentum of the bob, so the direction of changes but magnitude remains same.
