JEE Main 2021Semiconductors Question with Solution

JEE Main 2021 (25 Feb Shift 1)

Question

A 5 V battery is connected across the points X and Y. Assume D1 and D2 to be normal silicon diodes. Find the current supplied by the battery if the +ve terminal of the battery is connected to point X.

Choose an option

Show full solutionCorrect option: D
Correct answer
D~0.43 A

Step-by-step explanation

Here only D1 will work and we know for silicon diode, potential drop on D1 will be 0.7 V

I=5-0.710=0.43 A
