JEE Main 2023 (25 Jan Shift 1)

Question

The value of

limn1+2-3+4+5-6++(3n-2)+(3n-1)-3n2n4+4n+3-n4+5n+4 is

Choose an option

Show full solutionCorrect option: C
Correct answer
C32(2+1)

Step-by-step explanation

The given limit limn1+2-3+4+5-6++(3n-2)+(3n-1)-3n2n4+4n+3-n4+5n+4 can be expressed as,limnr=1n3r-2+3r-1-3r2n4+4n+3-n4+5n+4

=limnr=1n3r-12n4+4n+3-n4+5n+4

=limn0+3+6+9+.n terms2n4+4n+3-n4+5n+4.......(1)

We know the sum of the nth term of A.P. is given by

Sn=n22a+n-1d

Using above formula in equation(1) we get,

=limn3n(n-1)22n4+4n+3-n4+5n+4

=limn3n(n-1)22n4+4n+3-n4+5n+4

=limn3(1-1n)22+4n3+3n4-1+5n3+4n4

=3(1-0)22+0+0-1+0+0

=32(2-1)=32(2+1)
